What does climate-controlled mean?

Climate-controlled means that these types of units are heated and cooled in the storage space—typically between 58 degrees to 78 degrees—to cut down on the effects of humidity and to protect your stored items from extreme temperatures. Check with your local Space Shop location for more details on climate-controlled storage near you.

What is a drive-up storage unit?

A drive-up storage unit is a garage-like storage space that gives you the ability to pull your vehicle right up into or next to your storage space. These are ideal for loading and unloading heavy items or equipment as they give you the ability to load and unload your items directly from a vehicle or truck.

How big are your storage units?

Our storage units range in size from small 5x5 lockers to extra large 10x30 units, but sizes vary. Check your local Space Shop facility for specifics. Select facilities also have boat, RV, and vehicle parking as well.

Can I buy boxes and packing supplies at the facility?

Yes! We are a one-stop shop for any packing supplies you may need.

What measures do you take to keep the facility clean?

Keeping our facilities sparkling clean has always been a priority, but since the stakes are so much higher now in the face of coronavirus, we`re upping our game. We are making sure to be extremely thorough when sanitizing high touch areas like keypads, elevator buttons, and door handles, as well as cleaning up and disinfecting after each renter uses our facility.

Do you offer parking for cars, RVs, and boats?

Some of our facilities offer covered storage options that can accommodate vehicles of all sizes. Visit the website of the location nearest to you to find out if that location can accommodate you.

What do I need to bring with me when I rent a storage unit?

Renting a storage unit is simple: just bring a government-issued picture ID and a form of payment and you’ll be set.

Can I rent a storage unit online?

Yes! You can reserve a unit online or rent and pay for a unit online. To do so, navigate to the Space Shop location you would like to rent from, select the unit you need, and follow the on-screen instructions.

What forms of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover, as well as checks, money orders, and cash.

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

While you can sign a long-term lease if you wish, we offer month-to-month contracts for every unit for your convenience and flexibility.

Do you have online billpay?

Yes. We recommend using online billpay, as the option comes with our No Late Fee Guarantee autopay and is simple to set up.

Do I need to have storage insurance?

Yes, you do need to have storage insurance. We require you to obtain insurance for your stored belongings here at Space Shop. Many homeowners policies also provide a certain amount of offsite personal property coverage, which would cover your storage unit. If you do not have any storage insurance, you may purchase storage insurance through us. We partner with an insurance provider with a national track record to keep your belongings covered.

You can move into your storage unit any time during gate access hours.

What are your gate access hours?

Our gate access hours are from 6 a.m. through 10 p.m. seven days a week. Select locations also offer 24-hour access—check with your Space Shop facility to see if that`s an option for you.
