Storage units at Space Shop Self Storage

Selecting and Renting Your Storage Space

Q: What is climate control?
A: These types of units are cooled and heated to protect your stored belongings from extreme temperatures. They are typically kept at between 58 degrees and 78 degrees and can help cut down on the effects of humidity. Check with our local Property Manager for the specific details about our climate-controlled storage options in your city.

Q: What is a drive up storage unit?
A: A drive up unit is a ground floor outdoor unit that typically has a roll up door. These are ideal for loading and unloading heavy items or equipment because they give you the ability to load and unload your items directly from a vehicle or truck.

Q: What do I need to bring with me when I rent a storage unit?
A: You only need a current government issued picture ID and a form of payment.

Q: What forms of payments do you accept?
A: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, checks, money orders and cash.

Q: Do I need to sign a long-term lease?
A: No, we rent on a month-to-month basis for your convenience unless you specify otherwise.

Q: Do you have online bill pay?
A: Absolutely! We recommend this option as it comes with our No Late Fee Guarantee and it’s one less thing on your to-do list every month.

Q: Do I bring my own lock?
A: For your convenience we have a selection of locks for sale at all Space Shop Self Storage locations, but you are more than welcome to bring your own!

Q: What about insurance?
A: Yes, you need storage insurance. Whether you own your home or rent, insuring the things you own is a good idea. We require that you obtain insurance for your stored belongings. We partner with an insurance company that has a national track record to offer our storage customers a low cost third party insurance program, which often provides more coverage for less money than other insurance options such as your homeowners or renters insurance policy.

Q: When can I move in?
A: You can move in anytime during our access hours.

Q: What is the difference between office hours and gate or access hours?
A: Office hours are when our friendly storage team is on hand to assist you with anything you may need such as touring the facility, choosing a storage unit, or helping you select moving boxes and packing supplies. The gate access hours are the times in which you can access your storage unit using your PIN (Personal Identification Number) code.

Q: What are your gate access hours?
A: 6:00AM – 10:00PM seven days a week. Some locations may offer 24-hour access so be sure to check with your Space Shop Self Storage location.

Q: What are your office hours?
A: Office hours may vary slightly for each location, but we have a friendly team of storage experts in our offices seven days a week for your convenience.

Q: Is there anything I cannot store?
A: Yes. Here is a list: Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and not to get morbid, but nothing dead or alive. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

Q: Do you have dollies and handcarts?
A: Yes! You are welcome to use our complimentary carts when you move in and out of your storage unit.

Q: Does someone have to be in the office to let me through the security gates?
A: No. Our properties feature coded access gates. You will be given your own PIN code for keypad entry onto our property to access your unit anytime during our access hours.

Q: Does Space Shop offer additional perks or services free of charge?
A: Absolutely! We are the first point of contact for many of our customers who are moving to the Atlanta Region for the first time. As the new purveyor in storage, Space Shop Self Storage offers a storage experience you won’t find anywhere else.

At our locations you’ll find extra amenities included with your storage such as complimentary Wi-Fi, business centers, conference rooms, FedEx drop boxes, and coffee bars featuring specialty coffees and warm cookies. We’ll accept deliveries on your behalf at all Space Shop Self Storage facilities. For a fee, some of our locations also offer document shredding.

Q: Do you have a referral program?
A: We’re so glad you asked! Simply refer a friend or a business associate who rents a storage unit and earn $50.00.
